"This is an open seat, and therefore, there will be a full field of candidates. I have heard that there might be nine individuals who may run; however, we will not know until the filing deadline.
What separates me from the field of possible candidates is the length of time I've lived and owned a business in District 14 and the number of years I've served on commissions and boards for the City of Dallas.
In fact, I've served on City of Dallas boards and commissions longer than many of my opponents have lived in the district, " said Marcum."I look forward to meeting and working with residents throughout District 14," said Marcum who has opened a storefront campaign headquarters at One Turtle Creek Plaza in Dallas and launched a website at http://www.candymarcum.com. Marcum comments, "It has been an honor to secure support from all sections of the district and be invited to neighborhood meetings and events, I look forward to an on-going dialogue with residents of District. I want to know how residents envision a stronger, greater Dallas and what the Dallas City Council needs to do to make that happen.".
